for Global ‘Year of The Nurse’ in 2020
2020 Legislative Session
The Louisiana Legislative session starts next week. LSNA and LANPAC met with our lobbyist to discuss the upcoming session. We are following 17 bills. This is a fluid number as bills may be added or removed.
The broad areas covered are: LSBN composition, APRN scope of practice, and nurse education passage required by the LSBN. Brief summary of impactful bills:
SB 405 - Adds restrictions on APRNs to be subject to collaborative agreements' approval from LSBN, Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners, & Louisiana State Board of Dentistry.
HB 237 & HB 242 - Provides relative to the student passage rate required by LSBN.
