Who We Are and What We Do

The Shreveport District Association is comprised of members in the following parishes in Louisiana:  Bossier, Caddo, Claiborne, Desoto, Natchitoches, Red River, Sabine and Webster.  At the present time, we have approximately 165 members.

The purposes of SDNA are as follows:

(1) promote the purposes of ANA and improve the health standards and the availability of healthcare for all people

(2) foster high standards of nursing and stimulate and promote the professional development of nurses.

The Officers and Board of Directors meet the 4th Tuesday of every month at 4:30 pm at Northwestern State University's Nursing Education Center located at 1800 Line Avenue in Shreveport.  Board meetings are "open" and everyone is invited to attend.

SDNA meets several times a year...in Spring for the Legislative Breakfast, in May for the Nurse of the Year Banquet, and in December for our annual holiday get together.  Since the membership does not meet on a monthly basis, we keep them informed via our monthly newsletter, The SDNA Lamplighter, our FaceBook page, this website, and an email list server.  We are especially active prior to and during the Louisiana Legislative Session.
